MT PDI
Magnetic Particle Inspection Performance Demonstration Initiative

1. Visual acuity and color blindness eye exam
2. Written examination on principles of MT inspection
3. Performance Demonstration finding 20-25 indications on 7-12 test specimens including longitudinal & transverse indications.

TRAINING IS AVAILABLE PRIOR TO TAKING THE MT PDI, BOTH A FULL MT SYLLABUS OR A REFRESHER COURSE TAUGHT BY STS.

 

Level II must have at least 90% detection rate with no more than 1 false call, and prior experience with the MT method.

Level I must have at least 80% detection rate with no more than 2 false calls.
